Richard and Maria's wedding

Sunday, 13 June 2010 19:05 by candicewilson

We recently made a cake for Richard and Maria's wedding reception at The Maynard arms in Grindleford, May 2010, organised by Lisa Hilliard wedding planning.

The sugar flowers on the top of the cake were made to echo the brides bouquet.

This beautiful photo was provided by Simon Revill photography, who is based in Chesterfield. The gorgeous flowers were provided by Austin Flowers also in Chesterfield.

Fresh Flowers!!

Tuesday, 13 October 2009 14:58 by candicewilson

Michelle and Liam, August 2009.

I just love the look of this cake, simply iced white cakes with fresh flowers are so elegant!

'Hi Candice

Just thought I would let you know that Michelle and Liam's wedding cake was the best I've ever tasted and this was the verdict from many of the guests too. Tasted all three flavours and all were excellent. Well done and good luck with the business.

Christening Cakes

Tuesday, 13 October 2009 14:40 by candicewilson

'Hi Candy,

Wanted to e-mail and say a huge thank you for the cake, it was truly amazing, it was the talk of the party, even better than I imagined and well the chocolate cake was delicious, we had a queue of people waiting in anticipation for us to cut it! We've still got some left that we're supposed to give to out to neighbours, but I think we may end up eating it ourselves. We had quite a few people asking us for your details and you now have clients for life with us two, I'll be in touch in time for Olympia's 1st birthday!

Best wishes and thank you again.

Matt, Lisa and Pia'

Figurines are all handmade to your specifications!

Tuesday, 13 October 2009 13:20 by candicewilson

Chris and Kate came to me with a quriky idea for their cake. A running joke for all was Chris's love of golf, he had even said he could get 18 holes in before the wedding!! Kate provided me with loads of great photo's of the dress, grooms attire and of course the golf clubs! This was fab as I could really get stuck in making a model of Chris with his clubs and a fed up looking Kate!

'Cake was amazing. Thank you so much! Haven't tried it yet but got some to have this afternoon. Everyone said it was yum + the figurines were amazin. Kate x'

All handmade figures are completely bespoke so any idea is possible, hobbies such as hiking or ski-ing, or include your children or family pets!!!

Wedding Hair

Sunday, 4 October 2009 14:58 by candicewilson

I went to get my hair trimmed this week and my lovely hair dresser Lou persauded me to have a new style. Lou's been cutting my hair for quite some years now so I trust her judgement entirely!! And I was so thrilled with the new cut!!! Lou also does wedding hair which she is famous in chesterfield for!!! Her ability to replicate styles is second to none!  These photo's were taken at my wedding......

Everyone commented on my hair and were so surprised how it still looked the same at 2am in the morning after all that dancing!!

A wonderful way to start the Year. Lydia and Marc, January 2009

Saturday, 3 October 2009 18:34 by mr5wilson

What a wonderful start to the year. Lydia and Marc, January 2009.

I was over the moon when one of my closest friends, Lydia married her wonderful fiance Marc! And of course, I was thrilled to have the pleasure of making their cake!

Here's what she said;

"I have been friends with Candice since we started primary school and our friendship has always been very special to me. She moved down south when we were 10, so it has withstood time and distance!!!!

Once we were all grown up and Candy had become a chef there must have been times when she questioned what we really had in common, serving her part baked sausages and burnt scrambled egg when she came to visit may have added to these fears but we are still going strong and Candy now knows the sausages are the ones to watch out for when visiting!!

I got married at the begginning of the year (2009) to a wonderful, handsome and kind man. One of the first things that ran through my mind after he had proposed was that now Candy could make MY wedding cake...... We knew what we wanted from the start, chocolate and lots of it! That is what we got, Candy made us the most beautiful 5 tier chocolate wedding cake and it was so special to us because she had made it, we had it cut during the wedding breakfast and served as desert so everyone could enjoy it. My family still talk about it now whenever I mention Candy's name and it just makes me brim with pride to have such a clever and talented friend.

Thank you Candy x"

We all had a wonderful day at their wedding. Lydia looked absoloutely stunning, Marc the handsome groom and their children Janine and Joshua
were as gorgeous as ever. Have a fabulous future guys!
